Bio & history of the sweet Emma Bunton.

Emma Lee Bunton came to us on January 21, 1976.
As a young child, Emma modeled and won several beauty pageants. Emma was born to parents Pauline, a karate instructor, and Trevor, a milkman. They divorced when she was 11, and she stayed with her mother. She grew up in the north London suburb of Finchley.

In the early 1990's, she joined the Spice Girls after the original fifth Spice Girl, Michelle Stephenson, left the group.  Emma was given the nickname of Baby Spice.  Emma was the youngest of the 5 girls.  After Geri left the group and Emma enjoyed the success of Spice Girls, she recorded her first solo songs.  One of the first songs she recorded solo, was for the Pokemon movie soundtrack titled (Hey You) Free Up Your Mind.  And her first single, a remake of Edie Brickell & The Bohemians song, 'What I Am' ft. Tin Tin Out.  The single was a smash peaking #2. But it wasn't until 2001 she released a solo album.

In 2001, Emma stormed onto the charts with her #1 hit single 'What Took You So Long'.  The song stayed at #1 for 2 weeks.  Her debut album, 'A Girl Like Me' followed the single, and was successful.  The second single from her album was 'Take My Breath Away', a great song which became a top 10 hit.  The final single was 'We're Not Gonna Sleep Tonight' which was a top 20 hit.

In 2003, Emma would make a remarkable come back with hot new singles,a sound and a new look.  Emma had written a lot of the material for the forthcoming record herself. Her comeback single was 'Free Me'. The song was a hit reaching the top 5.  She would soon release the 2nd single in October of that year, 'Maybe', which like 'Free Me' was a hit on the charts. The single outsold 'Free Me' and peaked at #6.  Emma had definitely came back and in a great way. In 2004, she released the 'Free Me' album and the 3rd single titled 'I'll Be There'. The single reached #7.  The final single from 'Free Me', released in 2004, was the only song on the album that Emma didn't write.  It was a remake of an old song.  The 4th single, 'Crickets Sing For Anamaria' was a top 15 hit.

'Free Me' had brought Emma a lot of success and in late 2004, Emma was ready to return to the US.  She released the single, 'Free Me' late that year.  The song was a top 5 hit on the dance  charts.  After several tv appearances, Emma was ready to give American fans what they'd longed for.  On January 25th, 2005, Emma released 'Free Me' the album in the US.  It recieved great reviews.  The single 'Maybe followed and was also a top 5 hit on the dance charts.

In 2006, Emma competed on the reality series, Strictly Come Dancing. Former group members, Victoria Beckham, Melanie Chisholm and Geri Halliwell all showed their support for Emma either by showing up or leaving video messages for her.   Emma danced her way into the Semi-Finals and finished in THIRD place. (She was the only female star to make it to the semi-finals).
She aslo done the year's charity single for Children in Need.  A remake of the classic 60's song, 'Downtown'.   The single debuted at #3 on the UK charts.  Making it her 3rd top 3 hit and 7th top 10.
Her third album, 'Life in Mono', released on the 3rd of December.
Emma's ready to release her next single, a beautiful ballad, titled 'All I Need To Know' on the 12th of February, just in time for Valentine's Day.
Confirmed in January 2007, Emma and her boyfriend of 8 years are expecting their first child in the summer.  In August, Emma gave birth to her first child, a boy named Beau.
